Submersibles and autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) are becoming more agile and capable of reaching previously inaccessible depths.One focus of marine research is hydrothermal vents, where unique life forms thrive in extreme conditions. Marine research is also increasingly focused on climate change and sustainability, with innovative ocean farming, marine conservation, and carbon capture methods offering potential solutions.India’s Project bioE3 is a key initiative harnessing bioengineering and marine ecosystems to address environmental challenges. bioE3 focuses on using marine biodiversity to develop biofuels and eco-friendly technologies, showcasing how marine research can help combat global energy and sustainability crises.
