Track I — Primary
Science & Technology
- Master’s degree or 4-year Bachelor’s degree in any area of science & technology from a recognised institution
- At least 55% marks (without rounding off)
- Must hold a valid 5-year national fellowship: CSIR/UGC-JRF, DBT-JRF, UGC-RGNF, ICMR-JRF, DST-INSPIRE, or any other GoI nationally competitive fellowship
Track II — Institutional / Industry Fellowship
Medicine, Engineering & Pharmacy
- MBBS undergraduates
- 4-year undergraduates in any branch of engineering (BTech/BE) — non-biological sciences
- Pharmacy graduates
- At least 55% marks
- Must have qualified GATE or GPAT

Notes & Conditions

Reservation criteria will be applied as per Government of India rules and regulations.

Candidates awaiting final results may apply; however, if selected, they must produce their final mark sheet before joining.

If the original National Fellowship certificate is unavailable, candidates may submit a photocopy of the original admit card and the result page highlighting their roll number. Score sheet holders may apply but must submit certificates at the time of interview if shortlisted.

3-tier selection procedure: (i) Screening and shortlisting based on advertised criteria — additional cut-offs may apply if applicant numbers are high. (ii) First-round interviews held online. (iii) Shortlisted candidates attend a second and final offline round at BRIC-ILS, interact with PIs of their choice, followed by final selection.

Selected candidates will be notified via the BRIC-ILS website and an offer letter stating the assigned PI and joining date. Candidates must accept and join within the stipulated date. A maximum extension of one month may be granted in emergencies if intimated before expiry. Multiple extension requests will not be entertained.

Accommodation: The Institute will provide accommodation to candidates attending the final round of interview on a payment basis.

DST Inspire Fellows: BRIC-ILS will provide technical and intellectual assistance for submitting a PhD project proposal. No financial support will be provided by BRIC-ILS. PhD registration will be confirmed upon activation of any national-level fellowship within one year of joining.

Age Limit: Below 28 years as of the last date of application. Relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST/PwD/female applicants and by 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) applicants.

Incomplete applications, false or incorrect information, and non-possession of essential qualifications detected at any stage will lead to disqualification. The decision of the competent authority at BRIC-ILS will be final and binding.

Application Fee: Rs. 500/- (non-refundable) for all applicants except SC/ST/PwD. Fee must be paid online only via the link in the application form.

Fellowship: Emoluments as per guidelines of DST/DBT/CSIR/UGC/ICMR, revised from time to time.

To-and-fro bus/rail fare by the shortest route, limited to sleeper class, will be reimbursed to all candidates appearing for the final round of interview.
