Climate resilient agriculture refered to the farming practice that are designed to adapt to the changing climate, reduce vulnerability to reduce impact, and increase the ability of Agricultural systems too withstand extreme whether events. The goal is to ensure foot security and sustainable livelihood to minimizing environmental harm.
1.Diversification:
growing a variety of crops and incorporating livestock to spread and improve ecosystem health.
2. Improved water management:
techniques like rainwater harvesting, drip irrigation and water efficient crop variety help conserve water.
3.Agroforestry:
integrating trees with crops and livestocks to provide shade,reduce soil erosion and improve biodiversity.
4.Conservation agriculture :
practices such as minimal soil disturbance, crop rotation and permanent soil cover to maintain healthy soil and increase carbon sequestration
5.Climate-smart crops :
developing and using crop varieties that are drought-resistant, heat-tolerant to cope with extreme conditions.
6.Efficient resource use :
optimising inputs like fertilizers and pesticides to reduce environmental degradation and enhance residence.
7. Resilient livelihoods :
encouraging farmers to adapt strategies like insurance, savings are alternative income source to reduce dependency on unstable agriculture income.
8. Technology and innovations :
leveraging data and tech tools like early morning systems mobile apps and climate to inform farmers and improve decision-making.
The strategies helps ensure agriculture productivity despite climate challenges, protecting both farmers and the environment.
