Climate – resilient agriculture
DEVELOPMENT OF AGRICULTURAL
Climate change poses significant challenges to global food security, with agriculture being one of the most vulnerable sectors. As extreme weather events become more frequent and severe, it is crucial to adopt climate-resilient agricultural practices to ensure sustainable food production. Building climate-resilient agriculture requires a multi-faceted approach that combines sustainable farming including Agroforestry, Conservation agriculture, Pest management, and Organic farming without including any synthetic inputs. Incorporating climate-resilient varieties and breeds that are better adapted to withstand heat, drought, and floods is the best diversification way to build up climate-resistant crops and used in many cases. Efficient water management is crucial for building climate resilience in agriculture, Strategies such as Drip irrigation, Rainwater harvesting, and Soil moisture monitoring. Technologies can be also developed to enhance climate resilience in agriculture. GPS, sensors, and analytics to monitor crop health, soil conditions, and weather patterns can help farmers know about the predicted weather conditions. Satellite imagery and drones can be used to monitor large areas, identify stress signals early, and mitigate potential losses. Mobile apps and digital tools will act as a real-time weather forecast, pest alters, and best practice recommendations that can help farmers adapt to changing conditions
