Hands-on Training on Metagenomics of Environmental Samples from the Odisha Coast | 13–15 July 2026 | #OMBRIC
An exciting training program is currently underway at BRIC-Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), bringing together young researchers to explore the world of environmental metagenomics!
Dr. Punit Prasad, Scientist, BRIC-ILS, and Dr. Anshuman Dixit delivered engaging, interactive sessions covering the complete metagenomics workflow — from field sample collection and eDNA isolation to library preparation and bioinformatics analysis.
Talented research scholars from FM University, NIT Rourkela, Berhampur University, IISER Berhampur, & BRIC-ILS are getting valuable hands-on experience with real coastal environmental samples, working directly in the BRIC-ILS facilities.
This initiative reflects a strong commitment to building metagenomics capacity and fostering environmental genomics research talent across Odisha's academic institutions.
