Working as Scientist - E (Bio-resource Management) at IBSD Meghalaya on developing comprehensive agro-technology, post-harvest technology, evaluation, value addition and extension work on commercially potent medicinal plants of North-east India. Expediting two extramural projects of BIRAC and Himalayan Bioresource Mission, DBT. Remained Scientist In-Charge from January 2017 to July 2024 at RCIBSD, Sikkim, IBSD Meghalaya and IBSD Mizoram. Project worked include: Development of Agro-techniques and Cultivation of Medicinal Plants, ISM & H funded, (1998 to 2002) Survey and Silvicultural Management Practices for Commercially Exploitable Medicinal Plants of Arid and Semi-arid Areas of Rajasthan, NMPB funded (2002 to 2005). Genetic Improvement of Jatropha curcas for Adaptability and Oil Yield, CSIR funded (2005 to 2007). Establishment of Multilocation Clonal Trial and Seedling Seed Orchard of Jatropha curcas, DBT funded (2007 to 2012). Published 50 plus research papers, 01 Compendium, 02 Booklets and 29 Extension brochures.
Current Focus Areas
Developing comprehensive agro-technology, post-harvest technology, evaluation, value addition and extension work on commercially potent medicinal plants (Gaultheria fragrantissima and Swertia chirayita) taken up with ecological evaluation, adaptive study and agro-technology development for raising the Bioeconomy from bioresources in changing climatic scenario.
