Working as Scientist - E (Bio-resource Management) at IBSD Meghalaya on developing comprehensive agro-technology, post-harvest technology, evaluation, value addition and extension work on commercially potent medicinal plants of North-east India. Expediting two extramural projects of BIRAC and Himalayan Bioresource Mission, DBT. Remained Scientist In-Charge from January 2017 to July 2024 at RCIBSD, Sikkim, IBSD Meghalaya and IBSD Mizoram. Project worked include:  Development of Agro-techniques and Cultivation of Medicinal Plants, ISM & H funded, (1998 to 2002)  Survey and Silvicultural Management Practices for Commercially Exploitable Medicinal Plants of Arid and Semi-arid Areas of Rajasthan, NMPB funded (2002 to 2005).  Genetic Improvement of Jatropha curcas for Adaptability and Oil Yield, CSIR funded (2005 to 2007).  Establishment of Multilocation Clonal Trial and Seedling Seed Orchard of Jatropha curcas, DBT funded (2007 to 2012).  Published 50 plus research papers, 01 Compendium, 02 Booklets and 29 Extension brochures.

Current Focus Areas

  • Developing comprehensive agro-technology, post-harvest technology, evaluation, value addition and extension work on commercially potent medicinal plants (Gaultheria fragrantissima and Swertia chirayita) taken up with ecological evaluation, adaptive study and agro-technology development for raising the Bioeconomy from bioresources in changing climatic scenario.
