Career Opportunities for SCIENTISTS in Life Sciences

Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous Institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India is an emerging multidisciplinary institute engaged in advanced research in infectious diseases, gene function and regulation and translational research.  The institute invites applications for Scientists position from Indian citizens to pursue a carrier as independent investigators.  The candidates must have Ph.D/MD degree from a recognized university - criteria for consideration will be excellence in research, ability to be outstanding mentors and educators and capacity to work both individually and collectively towards fulfilling the mission of the Institute.  Demonstrated record of independent scientific research in the form of peer-reviewed publications and patents are very essential. Teaching responsibilities will include supervision of doctoral students.  Appointments will be at the level of Scientist-C and above based on experience and quality of scientific productivity. Higher experience and scientific accomplishment will be mandatory for appointment at senior level.  Successful candidates will be expected to develop excellent research programs preferably inter-disciplinary in nature. The chosen candidates will be expected to generate extramural project based funding for their research program.  Scientists involved in Life Sciences using any or all of the following tools of biology - cell and molecular biology, Immunology, genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, nanotechnology and systems and mathematical biology will be considered.
